PNG DataCo today handed over a brand-new triplex as part of its community social responsibility (SCR) initiative.
The 2×3 bedroom units have been fully funded by PNG
DataCo as a token of appreciation to Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) for making space available for PNG DataCo to build its Cable Landing Stations to facilitate the landing of the Kumul Submarine Cable Network and the Coral Sea Cable System
PNG DataCo CEO Paul Komboi while thanking RPNGC also
announced that PNG DataCo will build a band hall and fully equip the police band with musical instruments and redevelop the parade area.
Police Commissioner David Manning who was present to
receive the keys to the residential units said it is fitting that Kila Baracks continue to contribute significantly to the development of PNG in terms of policing, adding that RCPNG Police band is a source of pride for the Police Force in which RPNGC can be proud of.
Apart from the assistance to the Barracks, PNG DataCo
is also assisting a sporting tournament as the platinum sponsor of Manubada Volleyball Association’s 2020 tournament and will also provide free internet access to Sevese Morea Primary school.
These initiatives will assist the communities and the villages around the Cable Landing Stations.
